to DataPalace.

What connecting does

Perplexity is great at pulling current information from the web. Connect DataPalace and it can search both the live web and your internal knowledge base in the same conversation. External research plus internal context, in one place.

What plan you need

Perplexity Pro ($20/mo). Free accounts are not supported.

Connect it, step by step

  1. Open Perplexity and sign in to your Pro account.
  2. Click your profile icon, then Settings.
  3. Open the Tools or MCP Servers section (the label varies by version).
  4. Click Add MCP Server (or Add Custom Tool).
  5. Name it DataPalace, set the URL to the MCP server URL, and choose Bearer token auth with your DataPalace API token. Save.
  6. Toggle on the DataPalace tools you want, starting with search.
Test it: ask “Search my DataPalace knowledge base for our onboarding process.” If it returns your content, you are connected.

Good to know

The combination shines for research tasks: ask Perplexity to research a topic and it can compare the external findings against what your team already knows and has decided.
