Workplace platform

Connect Slack
to DataPalace.

Slack is where decisions get made and then vanish into the chat history. This connection turns the knowledge base into part of the conversation.

What makes this one different

Most connections put DataPalace inside another AI. Slack works the other way: Slackbot itself becomes the interface. Your team is already in Slack, so they just talk to Slackbot and it reaches into DataPalace directly. No middle layer, no switching tools.

What plan you need

Slack Business+ (~$15/person/mo) or Enterprise Grid. This does not work on Free, Pro, or standard plans.

Connect it, step by step

You will need admin access to your Slack workspace.

  1. Go to api.slack.com/apps and sign in.
  2. Click Create New App (or select an existing app).
  3. In the sidebar under Features, click MCP Servers. (No option there? Your workspace is not on Business+ yet.)
  4. Click Get Started.
  5. Name it DataPalace, set the URL to the MCP server URL, and choose Manual OAuth — entering your DataPalace API token as the bearer token. Save.
  6. Install the app to your workspace. Slackbot figures out the DataPalace tools automatically.
Test it: in any channel, “@Slackbot what does our knowledge base say about client onboarding?” If it pulls an answer, you are live.

Good to know

Saving new information to DataPalace from Slack asks your team to confirm before it goes through — Slack’s built-in safety gate, and a good thing. The old SSE method ended in April 2026; DataPalace already uses the newer Streamable HTTP format, so you are good.
